Camp Week Selections

  • Camper Age Group will be dependent on the age of camper at the date(s) of camp sessions.

Week 1

  • Our 11-12 yo campers will be introduced to basic hand tools and power tools like saws, drills, sanding equipment. After learning basic woodworking techniques, campers will have the opportunity to tinker and build under supervision of Hunter Farm adult staff. The group will also design and complete a group project related to woodworking.

Week 2

  • Our 11-12 yo campers will spend the bulk of their days with our retired horses. Learning the basics of grooming, feeding, and tacking, this is for your horse lovers! A former competitive equestrian will lead the group. Note: campers will not be riding horses.

Week 3

  • Our 11-12 yo campers will learn and practice baking and jamming techniques. With their new skills, they will create confections with freshly picked produce in the farm house kitchen. A professional jam-maker, and a legacy Hunter Farm homemaker will be guest instructors.

Week 4

  • Our 11-12 yo campers will learn and experience what it means to raise your own food. Campers will explore environments and best practices for raising beef, pork, and poultry. The week will culminate with the actual harvesting, processing, and consumption of pasture raised chicken from the farm.

Under North Carolina law, there is no liability for an injury to, or death of a participant involved in an agri-tourism activity conducted at this agri-tourism location if such injury or death results from the inherent risks of the agri-tourism activity. Inherent risks of agri-tourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agri-tourism activity.

*NOTE: No camper will be exposed to any toxic chemicals or hazardous materials during camp activities. Additionally, they will not be allowed to use tools, equipment or materials in an unsafe manner.

We require a 50% non-refundable deposit at time of registration. However, you have a 24-window from the time of your registration for a full refund. After the 24 hour mark, the non-refundable deposit is in place. Camp must be paid in full within 30 days of the first day of your camp session. The card used at time of registration will automatically be charged for any remaining balance 30 days prior to the start date of your camp session. You have the option of paying down any balance via the Registrant Account Center between now and the 30 day mark. Any balance not paid 30 days prior to the start date of the camp session could result in cancellation of enrollment.

Should you need to cancel for any reason prior to 30 days of your camp session, you will receive a refund less the 50% nonrefundable deposit. Cancellations within 30 days of the start of your camp session are not eligible for a refund.

If you opt-in to the Purchase Protection program at time of registration, your registration purchase is 100% refundable should you be prevented from attending due to unforeseen circumstances. Please note this is a separate service offered by Purchase Protection LLC, and is not connected to the Hunter Farm. Questions regarding this program should be directed to Purchase Protection LLC.
